========================================================================== A NIGHT TO REMEMBER Michelle Vincenti ========================================================================== Timeline: SeaQuest DSV Author's E-Mail: MVINCENT@DREW.EDU ========================================================================== AUTHOR'S NOTES: Hey everyone! I'm back & I've got stories for you :) This one's a Ben & Katie story. I've toned it down slightly from when I originally wrote it. Sorry if any of this offends anyone. I want to say this now, before I forget, _PLEASE_, if you're under 13, don't read this. I don't want to be accused of corrupting young minds. You can pretty much find out what happened when you read the next part (the script). This story, along with the other Ben & Katie story I sent out in August (I think) are the background for a script that should be coming out within a week or two, depending on my schedule (classes, meetings & life) Comments are definitely welcome. Any flames sent will be read, then lit afire. As usual, the standard sQ disclaimers apply (Ben & Katie aren't mine, blah, blah, blah...they belong to Amblin, Universal & SFC/NBC...you know the drill...) Many, many, many thanks to Larie Stoley for helping me with the editing. Thanks, Larie, you're a doll! And now, I'll stop "talking" & let you enjoy the story (hopefully you'll enjoy it ::fingers crossed::) ========================================================================== "A Night to Remember" by Michelle Vincenti August 4, 1997 Katie Hitchcock threw her arms around him and dragged him into her apartment. She pushed him against the wall and began kissing him passionately. After a minute or two, he pulled away, breathless. "Whoa, Katie." Ben Krieg smiled at her. "You never used to do this when we were married." "Things have changed, Ben. Neither of us is exactly who we used to be." She dragged him into the apartment a little farther. "Katie, what's going on?" He wanted to know what his ex-wife was up to. They'd started dating again a couple of weeks earlier, but this was something he'd never expected out of her. "Ben," she breathed softly, "just shut up and kiss me." Ben knew better than to disobey an "order". "Yes, sir." he said lightly and began kissing her with a passion he thought was gone. he thought as Katie returned the passionate kiss. He gently swept her up into his arms and carried her over to the couch. He sat down and held her on his lap, still kissing her. He gently reached up and cupped her face in his hands, pushing her away a little so he could look into her eyes. "I love you so much." he softly whispered, caressing her cheek. Katie slid her arms around his waist and pulled him close so she could whisper in his ear. "Then why don't you do what I know you've wanted to for a long time...what I've wanted you to do." Ben looked at her incredulously. "Katie, you're not saying..." "Yes, Ben. I want you to make love to me." Her pale blue eyes were sparkling and she looked sincere. "I want you to make love to me like you never have before." Ben could hardly believe his ears. Until now, he had only dreamed of hearing Katie say these words to him. Even when they were married, she wouldn't say things like this. What had caused this sudden turnaround for her? What made her suddenly want him the way he wanted her? he silently admonished himself. He lightly traced her cheek with his finger. Katie sighed softly and closed her eyes. He put his hand on the side of her face and slid his hands toward the back of her neck so his fingers were intertwined with her hair. He leaned over and kissed her, softly at first, but slowly the kisses became more heated, more impassioned. He gradually started kissing her in several places, pausing to kiss her several times on the base of her neck, right at her most sensitive spot. He knew this was the spot which would drive her absolutely crazy. Katie moaned softly, just as he knew she would. Her soft moans drove him to the point of insanity. He couldn't take it anymore. He swept her up into his arms and, still kissing her, carried her into the bedroom. Once he reached the bedroom, he lay her gently on the bed. She looked up at him, her powder blue eyes searching his mahogany ones. Their gazes locked as Ben shut off the light. ********** The next morning, Ben woke up to the sun streaming through the window. He looked over and saw the French doors to the balcony were open. He quickly put on his boxers and walked outside sleepily. He saw Katie outside, leaning on the railing, watching the sunrise. He slid his arms around her waist and softly kissed her on the cheek. "Hey there, beautiful." Katie leaned back into him and looked up. "Well, hello yourself, gorgeous." "I never knew you liked to watch the sunrise." Katie smiled softly. "Yeah, every once in a while I'll come out here, watch the sunrise and let my mind wander." Ben lightly kissed the top of her head. "Mmm. Think about anything good?" Blushing, she responded, "I've had daydreams about nights like last night." She turned to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Ben, last night was absolutely..." "Incredible." he finished for her. "Yeah. You know, last night reminded me of a song my sister would play every so often." "Which one?" "It's a song that was on one of Michael Crawford's CDs. 'For All We Know'." "Have I heard it?" He paused a second. "Wait, do I know who Michael Crawford is?" Katie laughed lightly. "Silly, Michael Crawford's the man who made the singing voice of the 'Phantom of the Opera' famous. And I think you have heard it. I've played it several times myself." She started to lead him inside. "C'mon. I'll play it for you now." They walked into the living room and Ben sat down on the couch as Katie placed a disc into the player. She pushed a couple of buttons and walked back to the couch. She settled into Ben's arms as the song started. As they listened to the words of the song, a look of recognition crossed Ben's face. Katie had played this song many times and he often heard it coming from her quarters on _seaQuest_. Ben looked into Katie's eyes and smiled at her. "I can see how this would remind you of last night." he softly said. She rested her head on his shoulder and cuddled up next to him. Ben still thought he was dreaming, but as the moments passed, he understood that this was, in fact, reality. Katie was really in his arms and he had really made love to her the night before. He wanted to give their life together another chance, but he quickly put that thought in check. So, for the moment, he remained content with holding the love of his life in his arms. -The End- ========================================================================== copyright September, 1997 by Michelle Vincenti
