Please send any opinions, comments, critiques, etc, to me personally, at rogue@mail.icomnet.com Thanks!! Rogue Missing scene from "In the Company of Ice And Profit" In the near-silence of the moon pool, a man sat, pensively watching as Darwin swam about. This room, so familiar, and yet so unfamiliar, intrigued him. It brought back memories of past times, and another life he had almost forgotten, one so far removed from the present that it seemed almost unreal to him now. So many things, so many faces, voices, details that had faded from his memory were suddenly crystal clear again. The seaQuest. She had changed somewhat, but so many things were still as they had been when last he had been here. He turned sharply as a noise echoed through the room, instinctively assuming a more defensive posture against this unexpected threat. Blue eyes met brown, and he relaxed slightly, recognizing the newcomer. I should have known I'd see him eventually. The two men gazed at each other searchingly. Once they had been friends, as close as brothers, but now... They had changed. They were too long seperated, and both too changed by the bitter hands life had dealt them. Now these former friends both knew that however close they had been in the past, they were now only strangers with familiar faces. The newcomer ventured closer, moving swiftly but unthreatingly until he was only a pace away, then slowly extended a hand, almost as if offering a truce. The other man regarded him warily for a moment, then decisively took the other man's hand and clasped it. An all-to-familiar hesitant smile turned up the corners of his companion's mouth as he finally spoke. "Good to see you again, Ben." Ben Krieg smiled back. "You too, Tim. You too." And they both felt just a little closer than they had a moment before. The End. ************************************************************************* * Rogue, at email: * * Visit my Ted page at: http://www.icomnet.com/~rogue/rogue.html * * proud member of the seaQuest mailing list and TRIFC, * * the Ted Raimi International Fan Club!!! * * >> We're TRIFC because Ted's terrific! << * ************************************************************************* -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
